Having already hoisted their championship banner and received glittering rings, the Phillies are about to reap another traditional reward given to World Series winners.

They will meet the president.

The Phillies have been invited to the White House on Tuesday, a day off in their three-game series against the Washington Nationals. They will get a tour of the White House and meet with President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill.

So, where does a presidential visit rank among the other honors bestowed on the Phillies?

"It could be right up at the top," said center fielder Shane Victorino, whose father, Michael, is a city councilman in Maui. "It's going to be up there. To go to the White House, a place not too many people get to go to, and especially to see the guy who is running the country, to see President Obama, that's going to be one for the ages."

Jimmy Rollins campaigned for Obama before the election and went to the inauguration as a guest of Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.). Asked if he may be awestruck at meeting Obama, Rollins smiled and said, "You're asking me to predict the future."

"I thought afterward we'd go to Ottawa and see the prime minister," said veteran outfielder Matt Stairs, a native of Saint John, New Brunswick. "It's going to be an honor to say you got to go to the White House, meet the president and snoop around and see what it's like."

PHILLIES 12, BRAVES 11: Raul Ibanez went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and his first home run with the Phillies, and Philadelphia scored eight runs in the seventh inning to rally for a come-from-behind victory, their first of 2009. The Phillies drew 10 walks, their highest single-game total since a 10-walk game Sept. 4, 2007, against the Braves. Five walks came in the seventh inning, including four with the bases loaded. Shane Victorino, Chase Utley and Pedro Feliz also had two hits for the Phillies. Brad Lidge allowed a ninth-inning solo homer by Matt Diaz but recorded his 45th consecutive regular-season save.
