As he walked through the Phillies' clubhouse before batting practice, Cole Hamels was asked how he was feeling one day after taking a line drive off his left shoulder.

"No comment," he said.

That was seemingly a bad sign.

But general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said through a team spokesman that Hamels has been cleared to pitch after being examined Friday morning by athletic trainer Scott Sheridan. The ace left-hander played long-toss Friday, will throw a bullpen session Saturday and is slated to make his next start on schedule, Tuesday night against the Washington Nationals at Citizens Bank Park.

Cue the sigh of relief.

"I thought it might be a little sore (Friday) morning, a little stiff," manager Charlie Manuel said. "But he said it was fine. He felt good."

Before being struck on the shoulder by Prince Fielder's liner in the fourth inning Thursday, Hamels had cruised through 3 1/3 innings, allowing only a two-run home run by Ryan Braun, one batter before Fielder. It was an improvement over his first two starts when he gave up 12 runs in only 9 2/3 innings.

Overall, Hamels is 0-2 with a 9.69 ERA in three starts.

"He's coming," pitching coach Rich Dubee said. "He's getting closer and closer, that's for sure. He's coming along. This is just a minor setback."

PHILLIES 7, MARLINS 3: Shane Victorino belted a grand slam in a seven-run ninth inning to lead the Phillies to a come-from-behind victory in the opener of a three-game series at Dolphin Stadium. The Phillies had three hits through eight innings before stringing together four walks and five hits in the ninth. Victorino's first career regular-season grand slam was followed by Chase Utley's solo homer. Matt Stairs also had a pinch-hit RBI single, and Jimmy Rollins drew a walk that forced home a run. Brett Myers threw a season-high 119 pitches in six innings and held the Marlins scoreless after Dan Uggla's first-inning three-run homer.
