--RF Jayson Werth became only the third player in Phillies history to steal four bases in a game when he did it Tuesday. Werth also swiped home in the seventh inning on a direct steal. He surprised the Dodgers by taking off from third base on a slow toss from C Russell Martin to RHP Ronald Belisario, who fired the ball back to the plate. Werth slid in ahead of Martin's tag to give the Phillies a 5-2 lead, received a standing ovation and gave a curtain call to a sellout crowd at Citizens Bank Park. Werth's four steals tied a club record set by Sherry Magee (July 12, 1906 and Aug. 31, 1906) and Garry Maddox (May 29, 1978). "I just noticed that (Martin) really couldn't see me with (Pedro) Feliz up there," Werth said. "(Coach) Davey Lopes always preaches being aggressive on the basepaths all the time, so I just took advantage of it."
